Mark Sanborn is a well-known speaker and author of The Fred Factor, a story about a remarkable mail carrier. Fred was different than most postal employees. He was so extraordinary that he got Mark's attention and ended up as the subject of a bestselling book.
Fred's story teaches us an important lesson. As Sanborn said in a recent blog post, "we are bombarded by people and messages every day, all trying to get our attention. With limited attention, there is only so much we can give." We save our attention for remarkable people, remarkable organizations and remarkable events.
There is one very simple reason to be a freak. It gets people's attention. People notice when something is unusual or surprising.
I own buckleys. I always have. It tastes like liquid vicks vapor rub. It makes you want to go bed, but it makes you better, quickly. (maybe because it scares your cold away because it's so nasty)
